Effective March 18, 2020 the Michigan Workers’ Disability Compensation Agency issued emergency rules regarding health care workers and first responders who are susceptible to exposure and personal injury due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

These rules apply to first response employees and must meet one of the following criteria:

Quarantine at the direction of an employer due to confirmed or suspected COVID-19 exposure.
A COVID-19 diagnosis from a physician.
A presumptive positive COVID-19 test.
Receives a laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.
