On January 19, 2017, three Kitch attorneys, John Sier, Andrew Harris and Yasir Muhammad will present during the Building Owners Management Association’s (BOMA) annual “Mega Education Day” at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Dearborn, Michigan. BOMA’s Mega program includes a full day of presentations designed to fulfill the professional and continuing education needs of property owners, managers and brokers as well as their vendors and staff.

John Sier, lead attorney in the firm’s commercial litigation group, and Giuseppe Santangelo, of Skypersonic, will address the regulations and potential applications of drones in facility management. Drone use seems to grow daily – but most of us have more questions than answers regarding this emerging technology. This seminar will review the FAA regulations on Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) and the impact on the use of drones for exterior activities. Also discussed will be the possibility of micro drones and other specialty craft for indoor use [including autonomous operations] for inspections, security and safety programs in commercial and industrial spaces.

Andrew Harris and Yasir Muhammad will provide an hour long update on commercial landlord/tenant law, a presentation designed to build upon landlords’ and property managers’ understanding of how this area of the law affects their business.
