Richard Joppich was an invited guest speaker at the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law conference in Troy, Michigan on October 12, 2017. Mr. Joppich presented on recent updates in Medicare Secondary Payer Act implications for personal injury litigation, including comments on Medicare Advantage Plans (MAPs), Medicare Set Aside Accounts (MSAs), Double Damage claim trends in the courts, and reimbursement obligations in no-fault third party litigation, among other topics.

Mr. Joppich is a trial attorney representing hospitals and individual healthcare providers in major complex malpractice and general personal injury suits throughout the State and Federal Courts in Michigan.
In conjunction with his litigation work, he has developed a significant knowledge base relating to Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance law, liens, audits, and claim reporting compliance, for which he has assisted many insurers, healthcare providers, courts, and attorneys in policy generation, negotiations, lien resolution, and settlement services.
