At the 2009 OSHRM/SOHA winter conference, John Wasung spoke on the issue of state governmental immunity being extended to physicians when allegations of malpractice arise during training of residents and medical students. His presentation included a discussion of Ohio’s response to the expansion of immunity through the decision in Theobald v. University of Cincinnati.

The Ohio Hospital Association, Ohio Society of Healthcare Risk Manager, and Society of Ohio Healthcare Attorneys were sponsors for the event.

Mr. Wasung serves as head of the firm’s Ohio office, and has handled a variety of medical malpractice defense cases and issues in his more than 20 years with the firm.
