On December 21st, John Sier and Carina Kraatz will lead a roundtable discussion, “Developing Standards for Quantifying and Analyzing Productivity Claims and the Impact On Construction Audit”, for the National Association of Construction Auditors (NACA).

The discussion will provide a brief overview of the anticipated BSR/ASCE/CI 71-202x “Identifying, Quantifying and Proving Loss of Productivity” Standard and the possible application to potential claims arising from work occurring during the pandemic era. Additional discussion topics include the treatment of PPP loans relative to overhead costs in light of SBA questionnaire and IRS policy guidance on deductibility of expenses, and documenting costs related to preparing for possible shutdowns even if the shutdown doesn’t occur.

John Sier heads the firm’s commercial litigation practice. With more than three decades of experience, Mr. Sier concentrates his practice on dispute avoidance and resolution of commercial, healthcare and construction contract issues.

Carina M. Kraatz is a principal in the firm’s Detroit office. She focuses her practice on commercial and construction litigation as well as intellectual property and bankruptcy issues. Ms. Kraatz’s intellectual property practice includes patent and trademark prosecution and litigation on a variety of issues including image misappropriation and infringement.
