Laura Sherbrook, Kitch Attorney

Laura Sherbrook, among many others at the Kitch firm, have been very involved in rendering extensive free legal services on varied issues for those who cannot generally afford an attorney despite significant legal needs impacting their lives. Laura, most recently, was successful in assisting her client to clear a 32 year old record. Ultimately, her client’s future was that much brighter and positive. Laura’s client thought the successful expungement was a life-changing experience for him and expressed his heart-felt gratitude after the hearing by telling Laura that she was his hero and by taking a “selfie” so that he could always remember this important moment in his life.

Laura Sherbrook is a litigator with the Kitch firm, focusing her primary practice on defense of claims involving birth injuries and medical care leading to claimed harm. Prior to joining the Kitch Firm, Ms. Sherbrook served as a Judicial Intern for U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Judge Nancy G. Edmunds, and also, consistent with her giving of her time, was a Legal Intern at the State Appellate Defender Office.

She received her Juris Doctorate Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Michigan State University College of Law. While in law school, she was honored with the Jurisprudence Achievement Award in Criminal Trial Advocacy I. She also served as a Teacher’s Assistant for Civil Procedure. Ms. Sherbrook was an active member of the Journal of Animal and Natural Resources and was involved in the State Appellate Defender Office Clinic at MSU College of Law. Prior to Law school, Ms. Sherbrook graduated from The University of Michigan, obtaining a B.A. Degree in Sociology with High Distinction, and a minor in The Program in the Environment.
