Victor Abela leads the firm’s workers' disability compensation practice. Since joining the firm over 25 years ago, Mr. Abela has developed an expertise in dealing with workers' compensation claims from clients in a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, education and construction.
He is licensed to practice law in Michigan, as well as the U.S. District Court of Western Michigan. In addition to his distinguished legal practice, Mr. Abela has served as an instructor for the Oakland University Paralegal Program. In the 1980s, Mr. Abela served as an off-ice official for the National Hockey League. A native of Malta, he speaks fluent Maltese.

Mr. Abela received his J.D. from the Detroit College of Law. He earned a B.A. in Education from Wayne State University. Prior to attending law school, he worked as an instructor at East Detroit High School.
