John Ryan heads the firm's Lansing office.  In more than two decades with the Kitch firm, Mr. Ryan has devoted his practice to medical malpractice defense litigation, including birth trauma defense.  Since joining the firm in 1980, he has taken more than 70 cases to trial and his experience includes a tour of duty as part of a national litigation team for a product manufacturer facing mass tort litigation.  Mr. Ryan's willingness to go to trial has led to extremely effective results for his clients.     

Mr. Ryan is licensed to practice law in Michigan, as well as the U.S. District Court of Eastern and Western Michigan.

Mr. Ryan received his J.D., cum laude, from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.  He also earned a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the Varsity wrestling team and named to the All Big Ten Team.
