Karen Berkery will present "Marijuana, Paid Sick Leave, and Increased Minimum Wage - What Employers Need to Know" on December 4th at 7:30 a.m. on Oakland Community College's Royal Oak Campus. The event is the first presented by the Oakland-Macomb HR Association and provides an opportunity for members to network and share knowledge about the latest HR practices, trends, and issues.

Karen Berkery leads the firm's labor and employment law practices.  A member of the firm since 1989, Ms. Berkery focuses her practice on the defense of management in disputes concerning employers, as well as physician peer review litigation.  She also represents businesses in civil rights, housing and public accommodation claims before the MDCR and HUD.  She is committed to helping clients minimize costs by solving disputes outside the courtroom, and is certified as a general civil mediator.
