Andrew Harris is an associate principal who focuses his practice on real estate, commercial litigation, federal/state tax issues and defending professional negligence claims involving insurance agents, lawyers and accountants. His expertise also includes advising clients on all aspects of commercial, industrial and residential landlord/tenant matters. Mr. Harris is licensed to practice law in Michigan, as well as the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. He is also certified to practice before the U.S. Tax Court.
He was named a Rising Star in 2008 by Super Lawyers. Rising Stars are attorneys who are 40 years old or younger or those who have practiced for ten years or less. Only 2.5 percent of Michigan lawyers are named to this list every year.
Mr. Harris received his Juris Doctor from Wayne University Law School and earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan. He also obtained his Masters of Law degree from Wayne State University's Tax LL.M. program in 2010.
The President of the Library Board for the city of Birmingham, Mr. Harris has also served as Chairman of the Birmingham Parks and Recreation Board. He is attorney liaison to the Building Owners Management Association's Government Affairs Committee, which consults with state legislators regarding Michigan commercial property tax reform. In addition, Mr. Harris is a member of the Taxation, Business Law and Real Property Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
