Andrew Harris To Serve As Mayor of Birmingham

Andrew Harris

On November 13, 2017, the Birmingham City Commission nominated sitting Commissioner, Andrew Harris, as its Mayor.  Andy will serve as the Mayor for the City of Birmingham for the next year. He had previously served as a Trustee of the Library Board for the City of Birmingham and president of its Parks and Recreation Board.

Mr. Harris is a principal in the firm’s Detroit office who focuses his practice on real estate, landlord tenant, commercial litigation, federal/state tax issues and defending professional negligence claims involving insurance agents, lawyers and accountants. His expertise also includes advising clients on all aspects of commercial, industrial and residential landlord/tenant matters. Having  received his Juris Doctor from Wayne University Law School and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, he also obtained a Masters of Law degree from Wayne State University's Tax LL.M. program.  He is attorney liaison to the Building Owners Management Association's Government Affairs Committee, and  a member of the Taxation, Business Law and Real Property Sections and the Character and Fitness Review Committee of the State Bar of Michigan.
